Introducing Rose Maher

ROSE MAHER is a Sydney based actor, director and theatre collaborator. Rose graduated from the University of Wollongong in 2012 with 1st Class Honours in Creative Arts, Performance. After graduating, Rose completed the NIDA Screen Actors Studio in 2013. Rose’s recent acting credits include Electra, No White Elephant, June 2013; Mr Pillow (post-production), an independent feature film written and directed by Michael Booth. Her recent theatre collaborations include The Adventures of Wonderbabe the Terrible, NIDA Writing for Performance 2013 & NIDA Independent 2014; Erase with Chris Dunstan Civic Life Resident 2013, a production that kick started Rose’s association with Shopfront Contemporary Arts Centre.  Rose is currently tutoring at the University of Wollongong in acting & scene work.

Having spent some time being collaborator on others work Rose was inspired to facilitate her own project. Rose’s will use her residency to realise a production of As I Lay Dreaming a play by Australian playwright and novelist Catherine McKinnon. Rose performed in the premier production of the play, directed by McKinnon at Merrigong Theatre in 2009 with the University of Wollongong.
